Michael A. Rodríguez, born and raised in Hialeah, Florida, is a graduate of New College of Florida and Vermont Law School. He joined Greenspoon Marder in 2006, and his practice includes the representation of real estate developers, real estate investors, corporate landowners, and individual landowners in overall real estate development, including, but not limited to, obtaining master plan and zoning amendments, amendments to local government comprehensive plans, site plan and zoning approvals, subdivision and platting approvals, environmental permitting with state, regional, and local permitting authorities, Community Redevelopment Agencies, Developments of Regional Impact, code enforcement issues and building code compliance issues.
Mr. Rodríguez's practice also includes extensive knowledge of land use/zoning and local government issues as they relate specifically to condominium and community associations. He also has experience in local government programs and building compliance issues under Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, building compliance issues under the Federal Fair Housing Act, as well as construction compliance issues under the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction.
Mr. Rodríguez began his practice as an assistant county attorney for the Martin County (FL) Office of the County Attorney, where he served as counsel to the Building Department, Code Enforcement Division and County Accessibility Coordinator, and staff counsel to the Board of County Commissioners, Planning and Zoning Board, Local Planning Agency, Development Review Committee, and Neighborhood Advisory Committees. Mr. Rodríguez is an active member of various local political and civic organizations, among them serving on the Executive Board of the Palm Beach County Democratic Hispanic Caucus, as well as an active member of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section of the Florida Bar.
