Leonard Robbins was born in New Rochelle, New York. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1947. A 1941 graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. Robbins is a member of the Harvard Law School Class of 1944. During World War II, he distinguished himself as a staff navigator with the 15th Air Force, flying 50 combat missions over Europe, and left the service as a Captain to return and finish law school. In the service, he was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, six Air Medals, four campaign stars and two distinguished unit citations.

Mr. Robbins is a co-founder of the firm of Abrams Anton, and has resided in Broward County for over 83 years. He is a Diplomate of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and has the rank of Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Robbins is a past President of the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association and the South Broward Bar Association. His many civic activities have resulted in his being awarded the 1985 Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, 1986 Broward County Historical Commission Service Award and the Silver Medallion Brotherhood Award of The National Conference of Christians and Jews in 1990, the Broward Bar Association Stephen Booher Service Award, as well as other distinguished service awards. Mr. Robbins is a founder of the Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged and the Jewish Museum of Florida. Additionally, he was the 3rd Chairman of the Broward Community Foundation.
