David Weisman is a native Floridian, born in Miami Beach. He graduated with honors from the University of Miami in 1976 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, and in 1978 he graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida School of Law. Mr. Weisman is Board Certified in Real Estate Law since 1987, and is peer rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Weisman has a broad-based real estate practice concentrating on commercial leases, commercial acquisition and financing closings, real estate development, tax deferred exchanges, landlord/tenant disputes, zoning, and title issues. He serves on the Landlord/Tenant Committee of the Real Property Section of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association Commercial Leasing Group, the Attorneys' Real Estate Council of Broward County, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Children's Cardiac Research Foundation. He has served as President of the South Broward Bar Association, Legal Counsel to the Board of Directors of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and on the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.
Mr. Weisman has lectured on commercial lease matters and on general real estate for The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association, and has written articles for The Florida Bar Journal, the Real Property Section Action Line and the Florida Association of Realtors magazine such as: "When is a Contract Not a Contract?", Florida Realtor Magazine, November 1985; "Inspections: Let the Sellers Beware", Florida Realtor Magazine, February 1987; "Lease Consent Clauses: The Need For Statutory Action", Real Property Section Action Line, September/October 1990; "Negotiating Commercial Leases", The Florida Bar Journal, May 1991; "How to Destroy a Real Estate Contract", Real Property Section Action Line, January 1994.
